Vijay Sethupathi's long-delayed Train finally has a release date. The Mysskin film opens in theatres worldwide on December 4, the actor announced on social media.
"Get ready for the ride!" he wrote. The makers put out a fresh poster along with the date.
The action thriller follows a grieving man who boards a long-distance train to visit his late wife's grave one last time, planning to end his life after that. Then armed hijackers seize the train and hold thousands of passengers hostage. Fighting them through the narrow coaches to protect the people on board, he slowly finds a reason to live again.
Shruti Haasan, Nassar, Dimple Hayathi, Jayaram and Narain play key roles. Mysskin directs and also composes the music. Kalaippuli S. Thanu produces the film under the V Creations banner.
The date comes while Vijay Sethupathi's comedy-drama Baththa, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, is still playing in theatres. Reports say it has crossed Rs 24 crore net in India in 12 days.
