Sithara Entertainments to launch Simbu in Telugu, shoot begins in November

Tamil star Simbu is finally heading to Telugu cinema. Sithara Entertainments, one of Tollywood's biggest production houses, will bankroll his next film, and it marks the actor's first straight Telugu project. The banner has locked the film and an official announcement is expected soon.

Keerthiswaran, who made his name with Dude, takes the director's chair. The cast and crew have been finalised, and the production house plans to reveal the full line up shortly. Regular shooting is set to begin in November.

Simbu is currently occupied with Arasan. Once he wraps that commitment, he moves straight into the Keerthiswaran project, which is what keeps the November start realistic.

The film will be shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. That means Telugu audiences get a Simbu film built for them rather than a dubbed import. It also means the Tamil version arrives at the same time, so neither market has to wait for the other.

Sithara Entertainments has spent the last few years building ties with Tamil stars, having worked with names like Dhanush, Suriya and Karthi. The banner recently delivered Vishwanath and Sons with Suriya, a film reports describe as a big success. It is also producing Karthi's next with director Kalyan Shankar, a project lined up for release next year. Reports say that film has moved from a Sankranthi 2027 date to summer 2027.

With Simbu now on board, the house adds another Tamil headliner to a slate that is working both markets at once. For now the title, the heroine and the rest of the technical crew remain under wraps, and the official announcement should clear all of that up.
