Radhika Apte says a leaked intimate clip kept her indoors for four days

Actress Radhika Apte has opened up about one of the toughest periods of her career, when an intimate clip connected to her spread widely online a few years ago. She said the episode affected her so deeply that she did not step outside her home for four days.

In a recent interview, Radhika explained that an actor may agree to shoot an intimate scene as part of a film, but has no say in where that footage goes once it leaks beyond the story it was made for. For her, the harm went far past online chatter. The clip reached people she crossed paths with every day.

According to her, those people included her watchman and her driver, and she was shocked to realise the footage had reached people who were part of her daily routine. She was reportedly living alone at that time and felt frightened by how fast something from her work had moved into her personal life. She later called her driver and a member of her team to tell them about the leak and share her worries.

This is not the first time she has spoken about it. In an earlier account, she reportedly said that her driver, her watchman and her stylist's driver had all recognised her, and that their recognition was what kept her indoors for those four days. She described the whole stretch as very hard, saying the public attention was difficult to cope with and left her feeling uneasy and exposed.

Her comments have once again put the spotlight on what performers go through when their privacy is violated online. For Radhika, work done in front of the camera ended up following her into her private life and right up to her own home.
