The Vvaan Crosses 1 Crore in Day One Pre-Sales Ahead of September 25 Release

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's fantasy film The Vvaan reaches theatres on September 25, and early ticket sales point to a healthy start. Reports say the film, billed in full as The Vvaan: Force Of The Forrest, is Sidharth's first big screen outing since Param Sundari. Tamannaah plays an important role alongside him.

According to reports, day one advance bookings have crossed the 1 crore gross mark, with around 42K tickets sold as of 11:30 am IST on the eve of release. That comes to roughly 87 lakh net. The film reportedly stood at 33 lakh gross the previous afternoon, which means sales jumped 212% in 19 hours.

Delhi reportedly leads the states with close to 24 lakh gross, and Maharashtra follows at 16.11 lakh. Among cities, the Delhi-NCR region is on top, with Mumbai next at 9.83 lakh gross. The show count is said to be near 4,000, and the average ticket costs 228 rupees. Reports add that the devotional drama Hanuman Ansh is still holding on to a good share of screens.

For the full opening weekend, pre-sales reportedly stand at 2.43 crore, and 42.39% of that is for day one. No new Hindi film is competing this week, so good early reviews could lift bookings for Saturday and Sunday. Reports also say the trailer and songs have gone down well with audiences.

For Telugu fans, the release matters because of Tamannaah. Her recent Telugu films have reportedly not done well at the box office, and lately she has been seen more in special songs, with fewer new Telugu offers coming her way. She has stayed busy in Bollywood and web series, though, and The Vvaan gives her another chance to shine in theatres. Reports say Deepak Kumar Mishra directs the film. How it does from here will depend on audience response and word of mouth.
