Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor trade playful jabs in new steel ad

Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have teamed up again for a new Rungta Steel commercial, and their easy chemistry is winning over the internet. The three stars have appeared in ads for the same brand before. This time they spend most of the spot teasing each other about their films.

The ad opens with actor Bijendra Kala pitching his idea. He wants the three stars to dance to Akshay Kumar's "Hookah Bar" from the 2012 film Khiladi 786. The actors smile politely at the plan and then offer their own ideas, each built around one of their well-known films.

Shah Rukh goes first with a Don twist. In his version, the police of 12 countries have Don surrounded but cannot break into his house, because it is built with Rungta TMT bars. Ranbir makes fun of the pitch by bending the famous Don line, saying that sitting through this ad would be not just difficult but impossible. He then pitches a Rockstar idea: the singer shakes the whole world, but the stage never moves.

Alia cuts Ranbir short with a cheeky "O nadan parinde, beth ja," a nod to his Rockstar days. Then she offers her own plot, inspired by Jigra, about a girl who cannot break her brother out of jail because the jail is made of the same bars. Shah Rukh gets the last laugh, joking that nobody would have the jigra to watch it. In the end, the three stars unwillingly dance to the very song they turned down.

Fans have loved the writing and the banter. Comments like "Scriptwriting on fire" and "Cast them in a film please" have poured in, while others joked about how big the ad's budget must be. Shah Rukh and Alia worked together in Gauri Shinde's 2016 film Dear Zindagi, but the three have not yet appeared together in a feature film.

On the film front, Ranbir and Alia will star with Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War. The makers revealed Ranbir's first look on Thursday and confirmed that the film releases on January 21, 2027. Shah Rukh is reportedly busy with King, an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand, which reports say will reach theatres on December 24, 2026.
