Rajinikanth calls Dorothy mindblowing after an hour with Karthik Subbaraj's team
Rajinikanth watched Dorothy and spent about an hour praising the film to director Karthik Subbaraj and actors Rishikanth and Sananth, telling the director he was the filmmaker he had been searching for.
Rajinikanth has watched Dorothy, and his verdict has left director Karthik Subbaraj on cloud nine. The superstar called the film fantastic, beautiful and mindblowing, then spent close to an hour going over it with the director and lead actors Rishikanth and Sananth.
Karthik Subbaraj posted photos from the meeting on social media. He wrote that Thalaivar loved Dorothy and praised every part of it in detail. One line stays with him most: Rajinikanth told him this was the Karthik Subbaraj he had been searching for, and ended with "Hat's off". "Am flying," the director wrote.
Sananth got a special moment of his own. He played Anwar in Rajinikanth's Petta, and on X he shared what the star told him after the screening. "Award confirm! Hats off!" Sananth wrote, adding that Rajinikanth had singled out how challenging his role was.
Praise has come from Malayalam cinema too. Mammootty watched Dorothy and later met Karthik Subbaraj and the cast. The director thanked him on social media for his wishes, his time and his appreciation, adding, "You always inspire."
Dorothy is now running in theatres. Keerthy Suresh shares the lead with Sananth and Rishikanth, and Karthik Subbaraj directs.
