Andhra Pradesh approves ticket price hike for Rajinikanth's Jailer 2

Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has won a price boost in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has approved higher ticket rates for the film, which hits theatres on October 15 as a Dasara release.

The government order sets out two rates. Single screen theatres can add Rs 50 to every ticket, and multiplexes can add Rs 75.

Reports say the order also allows five shows for one week, and that it was issued early so distributors can open bookings in time.

That is welcome news for Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments, who bought the film's Telugu theatrical rights for a fancy price.

Nelson Dilip Kumar directs this sequel to Jailer, with Anirudh Ravichander handling the music. Sun Pictures is producing it.

Rajinikanth leads a large ensemble. SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu all have important roles in the film.
