Jailer 2 gets UA 16+ certificate, runtime set at 165 minutes

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has cleared the censor board with a UA 16+ certificate ahead of its theatrical release on October 15.

The Central Board of Film Certification has passed the film at 165 minutes and 18 seconds. That puts the runtime at roughly two hours and 45 minutes.

Nelson Dilipkumar directs this sequel to his 2023 hit Jailer, with Rajinikanth back in the lead. Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu also return. So do Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, whose short appearances in the first part stayed with fans.

The new faces include SJ Suryah, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty and Anna Rajan.

Talk of a Hrithik Roshan cameo keeps growing, but the makers have not confirmed it.

Ahead of the release, the production house has announced a 'Super Show' with Rajinikanth and the film's team. It streams on SunNXT from October 9.
