Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has backed Baa Baa Black Sheep with a congratulatory video for the team. The Telugu crime comedy opens in theatres on October 9, 2026.
Sangma called the film "a proud moment for our state" and said it is the first South Indian film shot entirely in Meghalaya. He spoke about the state's misty hills, waterfalls, rivers and living root bridges. He also said film shoots give young people and local communities a chance to show their talent and learn new skills, and he invited more filmmakers to come and shoot there.
Producer Venu Donepudi thanked the Chief Minister for his support. He said the people of Meghalaya had welcomed the unit warmly and that the team hopes to shoot many more films in the state.
Guni Manchikanti directs the film, and Venu Donepudi produces it under the Chitralayam Studios banner. The teaser and trailer have caught the interest of movie lovers ahead of the release. Reports say the censor board has cleared the film with a U/A certificate.
The cast includes Upendra Limaye, Tinnu Anand, Raja Ravindra, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismaya Sri, Malvi Malhotra, Samriddhi Aryaal and George Maryan.
