Rajinikanth's publicist Riaz K Ahmed has said there is no rift between the superstar and director Ashwath Marimuthu on the sets of Dharman. He called the online rumours false.
The unverified posts claimed that the mood on set was tense and that the actor and the Dragon director did not agree. The talk spread quickly because Dharman is the first film the two have made together. Kamal Haasan is producing it, and Simran and Raashii Khanna are in the cast.
Riaz K Ahmed replied on X. He said he had watched the shoot himself over many days. Rajinikanth is comfortable and happy working with Ashwath, he wrote, and he praised the director's lively way of working. He added that Dharman is moving ahead quickly and well.
The film had a rocky start. While it was still called Thalaivar 173, it lost two directors, Sundar C and then Cibi Chakaravarthi. In June, Ashwath was named director and the title was announced. At that event, Rajinikanth said Sundar left because of other work, and that Cibi's film would have needed too much shooting time and money.
Rajinikanth also has Jailer 2 lined up. Nelson Dilipkumar's sequel opens in theatres on October 15.
