Rajinikanth asked Nelson for a Tamannaah song in Jailer 2 and was turned down
At the Jailer 2 Super Show, Rajinikanth said Tamannaah is the one thing missing from the sequel, recalled Nelson Dilipkumar refusing his request for a song for her, and spoke about missing his years as a bus conductor.
Rajinikanth says Tamannaah is the one thing missing from Jailer 2. At the film's Super Show, the superstar said he had asked director Nelson Dilipkumar to keep a song for her in the sequel.
Nelson said no. "I can't keep it just because you like it, sir," the director told him. Rajinikanth answered that he never said he liked it. He said that if he had only done what he liked, he would have become irrelevant and gone back to Bengaluru, and that he is still working because he does what audiences love.
Tamannaah's chartbuster Kaavaalaa was one of the big highlights of the first Jailer. That is why fans have been asking about her in the sequel.
Rajinikanth also talked about his life before films. For five years he worked as a bus conductor in Bengaluru, and he said he still misses that job. Seeing a bus makes him happy, he said, and he has never really felt like a big superstar. "No matter what I do, a part of me will always identify as a bus conductor," he said, adding that bus conductors always stay humble in front of big personalities.
Jailer 2 releases on October 15. Nelson directs the film, and Rajinikanth leads a cast that includes SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa.
