Atlee says there is no clarity yet on a film with Rajinikanth

Director Atlee has finally spoken about the chance of making a film with Superstar Rajinikanth, but fans hoping for a big announcement will need to be patient. In a recent interaction, the filmmaker said he has no clarity right now on when such a project could happen.

Atlee explained that he usually leaves a long gap between his films. He likes to spend a lot of time on the script, the planning and the execution of each project. Because he works this way, he said it is hard for him to say when he could take up a film with Rajinikanth.

The timing is not only up to the director. Rajinikanth also has a busy schedule filled with several commitments, which makes lining up a collaboration even more complicated. For now, Atlee says there are no immediate plans for the two to team up.

The director is fully focused on Raaka, his ambitious next film with Allu Arjun. The project is being mounted on a huge scale and is expected to take a long time to reach theatres. Reports suggest it could need about another year before it is ready for release.

Atlee already has some of the biggest stars on his record. According to reports, he directed Vijay in Theri, Mersal and Bigil, then made his Bollywood debut with Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan, a film that became a major commercial success. With those names behind him and Allu Arjun in his current film, he appears to be aiming for even bigger combinations in the years ahead.

Fans have wanted to see Atlee and Rajinikanth come together for a long time. Until the director finds the right window, though, they will have to wait a little longer to learn whether this pairing ever happens.
