Sobhita Dhulipala on marrying Naga Chaitanya after vowing never to date an actor

Sobhita Dhulipala has admitted that her old vow never to date an actor came from stereotypes. She has since changed her mind, and married Telugu star Naga Chaitanya in December 2024.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actor said she had probably been "narrow" at the time. She was judging actors by the examples she saw around her. She is comfortable holding different opinions at different stages of life, she added: "I'm okay with myself adapting."

She also spoke about the attention on her personal life. Sobhita compared society to the weather, which comes and goes. Anyone who over-identifies with it gets lost when it changes, she said, and staying centred is a choice she makes.

The couple began dating in 2022 and kept the relationship largely private. It drew extra interest because Chaitanya was earlier married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Sobhita and Chaitanya got engaged in Hyderabad on August 8, 2024. They married on December 4 that year in a traditional Telugu ceremony at Annapurna Studios, with close family and friends present.

On the work front, Sobhita was last seen in the crime thriller Cheekatilo, which came out on OTT. Her next theatrical release is Pa Ranjith's sci-fi film Vettuvam, due in December. She said she signed the film well before the wedding.
