Sobhita Dhulipala posed in sheer outfits for a magazine's new style issue and, in an interview, spoke about how Indian cinema has long shown women only through the male gaze.
Sobhita Dhulipala has gone bold in a new magazine photoshoot. For the latest style issue of an entertainment magazine's India edition, she posed in sheer outfits layered over a two-piece.
The actress, who is married to Naga Chaitanya, also gave an interview with the shoot. In it, she talked about how Indian cinema shows women.
Her main point was the male gaze. Sobhita said that for a long time, women on screen have been defined through it, cast as "the hero's mother, the hero's partner." She added that a large female audience wants to see itself on screen outside that frame.
She also spoke about how few kinds of roles are open to actresses. She said she hopes to keep acting for as long as she can.
