Rajinikanth reportedly to skip the Jailer 2 Telugu pre-release event

Rajinikanth will not be at the Telugu pre-release event of Jailer 2 tomorrow, reports say. The production team has not given any reason why the superstar will be absent.

That puts the focus on the rest of the team. Director Nelson Dilip Kumar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and producer Naga Vamsi, whose Sithara Entertainments holds the film's Telugu rights, are among the names leading the promotion. Cast members SJ Suryah and Ramya Krishnan are also tied to the push.

Jailer 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster Jailer, so fans expect a lot from it. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are also part of a big cast built around Rajinikanth, with Anirudh once again in charge of the music.

The film is due in theatres in mid-October 2026.
