Katrina Kaif tells fans not to let social media decide their self-worth

Katrina Kaif has told people not to let social media opinions decide how they value themselves. Her comments come weeks after she was body-shamed over how she looked after the birth of her son.
The actor was speaking at a London event for her beauty brand, Kay Beauty. She said that trying to please everyone online gets in the way of making your own choices. Looking back at her own life in the public eye, she said that if she had let every critique steer her, she would have been "paralysed with fear" and unable to move forward.
Praise from the world comes and goes, she added, so there are times when you have to be your own biggest cheerleader.
The trolling began after Katrina stepped out with husband Vicky Kaushal at the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai in September. Photos and videos from the evening drew remarks about her weight. Fans hit back, calling out the pressure placed on new mothers. The couple welcomed their son in November 2025.
Salman Khan also took on the trolls on Bigg Boss 20. He did not name Katrina, but he asked why women are judged for gaining weight after pregnancy. New mothers, he said, deserve time with their families instead of being judged for how they look.
At the same event, Katrina explained the thinking behind her brand's tagline, "It's K to be you." For her, accepting yourself does not mean feeling confident every single day. She said some days you feel you are getting everything right, and on other days nothing works. Her advice was to wear it all lightly and have fun with it.
