Jailer 2 races ahead in Tamil but moves slowly at the Telugu box office

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has opened to a massive response for its Tamil version, but the Telugu version is moving far more slowly at the ticket counters.

The gap is clear in the second day figures. Reports say the Telugu version collected ₹7.25 crore net from 1,940 shows on Day 2, while the Tamil version brought in ₹25.25 crore net from 7,243 shows.

Buzz around the sequel was huge before release, and it gave the film a strong start overall. In the Telugu states, though, ticket sales have not kept pace with that excitement, and crowds are building gradually rather than rushing in.

All eyes are now on the first weekend. Saturday and Sunday will show whether more viewers head to theatres and the Telugu collections finally pick up.
