Jailer 2 opens to Rs 59.70 crore net in India, Telugu version adds Rs 12.5 crore

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 earned Rs 59.70 crore net at the Indian box office on its first day. That figure covers every language the film released in.

The original Tamil version brought in the most, Rs 43.35 crore. The Telugu version was second at Rs 12.5 crore. Hindi opened at Rs 3.5 crore, and the Kannada version added Rs 35 lakh.

Counted in gross, the film's first-day total in India went past Rs 70 crore.

Reports say that makes it the fourth biggest opening day ever in India for a Tamil film, behind Coolie, Leo and 2.0. It moved past Beast to reach that place. Rajinikanth now holds three of the top four spots.

Nelson Dilipkumar directed the sequel, and Sun Pictures produced it. Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan and S. J. Suryah are in the cast, and Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar also appear.
