Jailer 2 cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan is now shooting Chiranjeevi's Kaaka

Vijay Kartik Kannan, the cinematographer of Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, is getting strong praise for the film's visuals. That attention now carries over to his next big film, Chiranjeevi and Bobby's Kaaka.

Jailer 2 reached theatres this week and opened to a grand start, with an estimated worldwide gross of around Rs. 130 crore. Its look has become one of the main talking points. The way Rajinikanth's elevation scenes are shot has drawn special appreciation.

Big star films are familiar ground for him. He shot the first Jailer, Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj and the popular independent music video Aasa Kooda.

On Kaaka, Vijay Kartik is the director of photography for the Chiranjeevi film directed by Bobby. The makers are aiming for a Sankranthi release, and the response to his work on Jailer 2 has only raised expectations for the film.

Nelson Dilipkumar directed Jailer 2, with Sun Pictures producing it on a grand scale and Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. Hrithik Roshan makes a brief cameo opposite Rajinikanth, and the ending leaves the door open for a Jailer 3.
