Nana Patekar's son Malhar answers Tanushree Dutta: 'The case is already over'
Malhar Patekar did not name Tanushree Dutta but said the harassment case she has raised again against his late father, Nana Patekar, was settled by the courts and is over.
Malhar Patekar has answered Tanushree Dutta's recent remarks about his late father, Nana Patekar, without once using her name. He said the case being raised again was closed long ago.
"Without naming anyone, I want to say that the case people are bringing up unnecessarily is already over," Malhar said in an interview. He added that the courts had cleared the matter, yet people kept talking anyway. He would not answer them, he said, because the truth would stay the truth. He closed with "bhagwan unka bhala kare", wishing them well.
Nana died of a heart attack in Goa on October 8. He was 75. His last rites were held with full state honours after sunset at his farmhouse in Donje, Pune.
Tanushree had accused the actor of sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn 'Ok' Pleassss. In June 2019, Mumbai Police filed a closure report in court saying there was not enough evidence to prosecute him or to back the allegations. The legal dispute effectively ended in 2025.
Since his death, the actress has asked why no prayer meeting took place and why the film industry and the media were not allowed to pay their last respects. She has also alleged that he staged his death to escape legal proceedings, and suggested a DNA test if he had changed his appearance.
Her earlier "evil dead" comment drew criticism. In a video defending it, she said his death did not wipe out what she alleged he had done. She called him "a sadistic, sick psychopath" and described his death as "nothing short of a miracle", saying her suffering had finally ended.
