Bosco Martis says Vivek Oberoi's reply after Company hurt him, then taught him

Choreographer Bosco Martis has looked back on a phone call with Vivek Oberoi from the early 2000s. At the time, the actor was riding high after Company and Saathiya, both released in 2002. Bosco works with Caesar Gonsalves as the popular duo Bosco-Caesar, and he admitted the exchange stung at first. Over time, though, he came to see it very differently.

The memory came up during a chat with Vivek on Bosco's own YouTube channel. As they talked, the actor explained how he keeps his personal bonds apart from his professional life. That led Bosco to share the story, and he first asked that nobody take what he was about to say the wrong way.

Bosco said he called Vivek after a long gap, just as Company and Saathiya had come out one after the other, and told him he wanted to do a song with him. Vivek agreed straight away. Then he asked Bosco to work out the creative side and send him a breakdown first. Bosco went along with it, but privately he felt hurt and read the reply as attitude.

With time, his view changed completely. Bosco said he later realised Vivek had been right all along. A star who had worked hard to reach his level deserved a choreographer who came prepared, with a clear plan for how to present him on screen.

Vivek backed that thinking in the same conversation. "Work is work, right?" he said, adding in Hindi that work should be kept separate from friendship. He warned that anyone who takes it for granted will soon fall.

After his early Hindi hits, Vivek went on to work across genres and languages. Telugu audiences know him from Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019), and his other credits include Omkara, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Krrish 3, Vivegam, Lucifer and Kaduva. His most recent release was Mastiii 4 in 2025, which took him back to the Masti franchise.
