Article 370 wins three National Awards, Aditya Dhar says the journey has just begun

Article 370 has won big at the 72nd National Film Awards. The film took home three honours: Best Feature Film, Best Actress for Yami Gautam and Best Music Direction (Songs). It is a special result for Aditya Dhar, because Article 370 was the very first film from his banner, B62 Studios.

The Dhurandhar filmmaker shared his reaction on social media. He said moments like this leave him humbled, grateful and overwhelmed, and he called the three awards an extraordinary and unforgettable moment for the whole banner. He shared the credit with his brother Lokesh Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande, his wife Yami Gautam Dhar, composer Shashwat, director Aditya Suhas Jambhale and the entire team. He added that a story the team truly believed in has now become a memory they will treasure forever.

Dhar also said an honour this big brings a bigger responsibility with it. In his view, the awards are not an ending but a push to dream bigger, tell stories with more conviction and make Indian cinema that travels well beyond the country. He said B62 Studios wants to take Indian stories and India's soft power to new heights, with films that entertain, inspire and make the country proud. He signed off with a simple line: "The journey has only just begun."

Yami Gautam reportedly posted her own emotional note on Instagram after the win. She spoke about showing up every day and holding on to hope until the right chance to express herself as an artist finally came. According to reports, she credited her son Vedavid, who was with her during the making of the film even before he was born, for giving her courage. She also thanked her husband Aditya for standing by her through every chapter and believing in her when she doubted herself.

Reports say Article 370 is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, who co-wrote it with Aditya Dhar, Monal Thaakar and Arjun Dhawan. Yami Gautam Dhar and Priyamani play the lead roles, with Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar also in the cast. The film is based on the 2019 decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, and it was released worldwide on February 23, 2024.
