Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju's Irandu Vaanam to hit theatres on October 23

Irandu Vaanam finally has a release date. Director Ramkumar's new film, with Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, will open in theatres worldwide on October 23, 2026. Production house Sathya Jyothi Films shared the news on social media and called the film a story of "love in its most purest, intense form."

A new promo also came out with the date, reports say. It reportedly keeps the plot hidden but sets a strong emotional mood, and it hints that the couple at the heart of the story will face a big test of their love. The title reportedly means "Two Skies" in English.

The film has fans talking because it brings Ramkumar and Vishnu Vishal together for the third time. Their first two films, Mundasupatti in 2014 and Ratsasan in 2018, both did very well, and Ratsasan is still remembered for its gripping thriller story. This time the pair has moved to a romantic drama.

The team took 150 days to shoot the film and wrapped up in June 2025. On the last day of the shoot, Vishnu Vishal said the director had made something "unique and interesting" once again, and he promised that audiences would feel the journey on the big screen.

For Mamitha Baiju, this is one more big project in a busy run. Her last release, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, reportedly grossed over Rs. 305 crore worldwide. Irandu Vaanam is reportedly her next Tamil film after Jana Nayagan and Vishwanath & Sons.

Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing the film under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner. Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the music, Dinesh K Babu handled the camera and San Lokesh did the editing. Gopi Anand is the art director, and Vicky choreographed the stunts. With the date now set, the film joins the list of Tamil releases to watch this festive season.
