Vaishnavi Chaitanya says she is 25, not 32, and shows ID proof on camera

Vaishnavi Chaitanya has finally answered the age talk that has been trailing her on social media. Posts and memes had been claiming the Baby actress is 32, and an online encyclopedia page carrying the same number kept the claim alive. She says the figure is simply wrong.

Speaking in a recent podcast conversation, she said she is 25. Reports say she gave her date of birth as January 2001 and added that the age being passed around online does not match her actual details.

She did not stop at a verbal denial. During the same conversation she held up her identification document to the camera and pointed to the date of birth printed on it, reportedly her Aadhaar card. Reports also say she questioned why people were so fixed on her age and asked them to look at her work instead.

The claim had picked up speed over the past few days because many users were genuinely surprised by the number. Some even joked about how young she looked for it. With the clarification on record, those jokes now read very differently.

Her breakthrough came with the 2023 romantic drama Baby opposite Anand Deverakonda, a big hit that won her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress in Telugu and the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut in Telugu. Before that she started in 2018 with a supporting role in Touch Chesi Chudu, drew attention in the 2020 web series The Software DevLOVEper, and featured in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Tuck Jagadish and Varudu Kaavalenu. Valimai, opposite Ajith Kumar, marked her Tamil debut.

The run since Baby has been harder. Love Me arrived in 2024 and Jack in 2025, and her latest release Epic, which reunited her with Anand Deverakonda, ended as a flop at the box office, even though her performance, styling and looks were appreciated. Reports say she has Tamil projects lined up, including one opposite Arya. At 25 she has time on her side, and the real question now is which script she signs next.
