Bigg Boss 20: Gullu confirms divorce, says his marriage lasted five months

Bigg Boss 20 contestant Kushal Tanwar, better known as Gullu, has confirmed something he had kept away from the cameras for a long time. During a quiet conversation with housemate Qazi Touqeer in a recent episode, the reality show winner said he is divorced, and that the split came through in 2024.

Gullu said the marriage was arranged and lasted only about four and a half to five months. He described the stretch as a very depressing phase, and said he kept trying to make it work before he understood that it would not. In the community he comes from, he said, people still marry young, and the pressure builds on a boy who is not doing anything else with his life.

The secret did not stay a secret. Gullu said that after his Roadies run wrapped, he was in Goa with friends from the show when someone leaked a photograph from his wedding. He said he thought it was game over for him at that moment and did not know what to do. Reports say the divorce had not come through by then, and that he was pushing for a separation his wife was not ready to agree to.

His family did not back the decision either. Gullu said his relatives cut him off completely while the fight was on, and that the whole matter took about a year to settle. He said the period took a toll on him but that he is finally out of it, and reportedly his family has since come around and is proud of him.

The admission also closes an older question. When the wedding pictures first went around online, Gullu had publicly dismissed them and called them fake.

He came up through Roadies, then went on to win Splitsvilla and the cooking based reality show Maa Hai Na, walking into the Bigg Boss house with three reality wins behind him. Reports say the season is hosted by Salman Khan with sixteen celebrities, and that only one contestant has been evicted so far.
