TG Vishwa Prasad expects a long theatrical run for Garividi Lakshmi

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad is confident that Garividi Lakshmi will stay in theatres for the long haul, even as it opens against bigger releases. He spoke at the film's pre-release press meet, where he was asked whether the team was happy with the number of screens it had secured amid the competition.

His answer was frank. "It's all about commerce," he said, explaining that big films naturally take bigger openings. He called Garividi Lakshmi a good film, not a small one, and said the team strongly believes it will have a long run once it arrives on October 17.

Vishwa Prasad also had kind words for the other two films in the race. He said he expects all three to do well, with Garividi Lakshmi picking up steam slowly over time.

The film is a biographical drama about Garividi Lakshmi, the folk singer from Uttarandhra. Anandhi plays the singer and Gowri Naidu Jammu directs. The story traces the highs and lows of her life, from her struggles to her achievements.

Audiences have already responded well to the theatrical trailer.
