Swanand Kirkire joins Akshay Kumar in Vipul Amrutlal Shah's sci-fi thriller Samuk

Swanand Kirkire has joined the cast of Samuk, the sci-fi action-survival thriller led by Akshay Kumar. Kanishk Varma is directing the film, and Kirkire has an important part in its story.

Who he plays is still a secret. The same goes for everyone else. The makers have let the names out but not the roles, because they want to protect the film's world and plot. Akshay Kumar, Rukmini Maitra, Vineet Kumar Singh and Rajat Kapoor are among the actors in the ensemble.

Vipul Amrutlal Shah is producing Samuk under Sunshine Pictures, and Aashin A. Shah is co-producing. This is the first time in 13 years that Shah and Akshay have made a film together. Shooting is on in London, and the film is meant for theatres.

Kirkire and Akshay have worked together before. Kirkire was a writer on Pad Man, and he later acted in Chumbak, a film Akshay presented. In Samuk, the two are expected to share the screen.

Kirkire has worked across Hindi cinema as a lyricist, a writer and an actor.
