Lokesh Kanagaraj Meets Akshay Kumar as Early Talks on a Possible Film Begin

Lokesh Kanagaraj has held a creative meeting with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, and the news has set off talk of a possible film together. Producer Nazeer Ahmed and writer Magesh Balasubramaniam were also part of the discussion. The talks are still at a very early stage.

The biggest open question is what kind of project this will be. It is not yet clear whether Lokesh will direct Akshay himself or supervise a film made by someone else. One report says the film could be directed by one of his assistants. An official announcement will come only once the plans are final.

Lokesh already has a busy schedule. His main focus right now is his next film with Allu Arjun, and reports say it is known for now as AA23. Mythri Movie Makers are reportedly producing it, and the shoot is said to begin early next year. Kaithi 2 and a film with Suriya are also reportedly waiting in line.

Akshay's calendar is just as full. He has reportedly signed several films, among them an alien drama called Samuk and a comedy with Ekta Kapoor that Sajid Khan is said to be directing. So the timing of any film with Lokesh is anyone's guess for now.

Reports say Akshay badly needs a big hit. His recent films such as Haiwaan reportedly opened at around Rs 2 crore, while Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 is said to have opened at Rs 60 crore. Lokesh, who made Kaithi and Vikram, has a huge fan following, and his name alone can create big excitement for a film.

Still, a famous name does not guarantee success. The script, the screenplay and the role Akshay plays will matter just as much. Whether Lokesh directs the film himself will also make a big difference. For now, fans will have to wait for official word.
