Janhvi Kapoor calls AI video 'deeply violating' as Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi back her

Janhvi Kapoor has spoken out about the AI-made video that changed how she looks in the Chuttamalle song from Devara and spread fast across social media. She called this misuse "deeply violating, bordering on sexual assault." She said technology was being used to objectify women and pass around made-up content about them without their consent.

In her statement, Janhvi said consent and personal limits must be respected no matter what a woman wears or what choices she makes. She added that a no still counts as a no, even after five days of yes. She also said the problem goes beyond the videos made of her, and pointed to the judgement and safety worries women face every day. She ended with a short line: "Her body. Her image. Her boundaries. Her choice."

Her Devara co-star Jr NTR called the clip "disgusting, sick and shameless" and slammed the use of AI to degrade a woman. He reportedly warned the people involved that he would take legal action, and asked fans not to watch or share the video. Janhvi thanked him for taking a strong stand.

Megastar Chiranjeevi said he would take the matter to the Telugu Film Chamber, the Producers' Council and other industry bodies. He will recommend a dedicated committee and support cell that works with Cyber Crime authorities to help victims, get such content removed and act against those responsible. Vijay Deverakonda also condemned the video.

Actor and politician Khushbu Sundar posted a long message on X calling the act cruel, abusive and deeply shameful. She said anyone who creates, knowingly shares or spreads such material must answer to the law, and stressed that a woman's body is not content. Janhvi thanked Chiranjeevi, Vijay and Khushbu for speaking up.

The video was reportedly taken down after it had already circulated widely. Reports say that more than a day after it drew attention, no one had been publicly named as its creator and no arrest had been confirmed. Devara: Part 1 released in September 2024, and Chuttamalle, composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Shilpa Rao, was one of the film's popular songs.
