Sree Vishnu's Comrade Kalyan Gets a Clear Run as Aadarsha Kutumbam Moves Out

Sree Vishnu's Comrade Kalyan opens in theatres on October 9, and the road ahead now looks a lot less crowded. Venkatesh's Aadarsha Kutumbam was due to arrive on the same day, but it has left that slot and been pushed to a later date. That gives Sree Vishnu's film a much clearer run at the box office.

The clash had been building for some time. Aadarsha Kutumbam was first planned for October 2 and then shifted to October 9, which put it head to head with Comrade Kalyan. The Comrade Kalyan team kept promoting their film and chose to hold their date rather than step aside. Now that the Venkatesh film has moved, that choice has worked in their favour.

The timing could help even more. Reports say the Dasara holidays begin on October 10, the day after release, which gives the film a real chance to draw crowds and earn well. Decent word of mouth may be all it needs. Sree Vishnu has reportedly had a couple of setbacks lately, so he has a lot riding on this one.

An open window will not do all the work, though. With only days to go, the makers need to push their promotions harder and build more excitement. The material released so far has drawn some interest, but there is still room to grow the buzz before the film arrives. In the end, how well it connects with viewers will decide how far it goes.

Janakiram Marella directs Comrade Kalyan, which is reportedly a comic entertainer, with Mahima Nambiar as the female lead. Radhika Sarathkumar, Shine Tom Chacko, Upendra Limaye, Brahmaji and Satya are said to play key roles. The film comes from the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner. Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati are reported as producers and Kona Venkat presents it, while some reports also link Kona Film Corporation to the production.
