Sardar 2, Romanchakam and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit lead this week's OTT releases

Streaming platforms have a busy start to October. Karthi's action thriller Sardar 2, the Telugu romantic comedy Romanchakam and the Malayalam hit Bethlehem Kudumba Unit lead the list. All three come with dubbed versions, so Telugu viewers can watch them in their own language.

Sardar 2 arrives on Prime Video on October 1 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. PS Mithran directs the film, and SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath and Rajisha Vijayan reportedly star alongside Karthi. The plot is said to follow a veteran officer, Chandra Bose, and his son as they try to stop an international group from releasing a biochemical weapon. The film also touches on the dangers of antibiotic overuse.

Romanchakam starts streaming on Netflix on the same day. Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar reportedly play the leads, with Venu Gopal Reddy directing. The story follows Anvesh, an engineering graduate who launches a dating app. He helps strangers find love but keeps failing with the woman he loves, while his startup falls apart.

On October 2, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit comes to JioHotstar in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The romance stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju and is directed by Girish AD, according to reports. It centres on a couple kept apart by family opposition and a big age gap. Netflix also releases the web series LOVE that day, with Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lakshmi reportedly playing rival dating app founders.

Anime fans can already stream Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle on Netflix, with a Telugu version. Reports say the Jailer 2 audio launch concert, headlined by Anirudh Ravichander, will stream on SunNXT on October 3. That comes ahead of the Rajinikanth film's reported October 15 theatrical release.

Other titles reportedly on the list include Dupahiya Season 2 on Prime Video and Ohh My Dog on Netflix, both on October 1. The Kannada film Mother Promise is said to reach ZEE5 on October 2.
