Talcum Powder glimpse out: Shiva Kandukuri leads a drug world comedy

The makers of Talcum Powder have unveiled the first glimpse of the film, and it sets up a comedy in a world where you would not expect one. Shiva Kandukuri and Drishika Chander play the lead roles in this dramedy, directed by Sainath Ponna. The film is set to hit theatres on 13th November.

The project comes from National Award winning producer Raj Kandukuri, the man behind Pelli Choopulu, Mental Madhilo and Choosi Choodangane. With Talcum Powder, he backs an urban, youthful comedy that aims to keep the laughs coming even as the story moves through darker territory.

The glimpse takes viewers into a drugs nexus, but it does not go for the grim, violent style that such stories often follow. The tone stays light and funny throughout. Shiva Kandukuri plays a young man caught up with drug dealers and peddlers. Reports differ on the details of his role, with one account describing the character himself as a dealer who steps into this dark network.

The short video shows Shiva in several different looks, which hint at his character and at the world the film is built around. It also introduces a set of quirky characters and the comic situations the hero runs into along the way.
