Salman Khan on Koffee With Karan: Ranveer Singh reined in his energy for Dhurandhar

Salman Khan refused to pick a winner when Karisma Kapoor asked him to choose between Ranbir Kapoor in Animal and Ranveer Singh in Dhurandhar. He was the guest on the opening episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, and he said the two performances were too different to set side by side.

Karisma made a surprise appearance alongside Salman and host Karan Johar, and she took over the questioning. Salman told her that both men are fantastic actors with styles of their own. In his view, one brings enormous energy to the screen and the other brings enormous intensity.

He then turned to Ranveer's work in Dhurandhar. Salman explained that Ranveer usually plays everything big, in a larger than life way, and this film forced him to pull all of that back. Holding back on that scale could leave an actor feeling unsure, Salman said, yet Ranveer showed no sign of it and stayed fully confident in the part.

Karan Johar agreed, telling Salman he had put it well.
