Biography

<p>Karisma Kapoor was born on June 25, 1974, in Mumbai, India to Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Her father was a famous actor in the Bollywood film industry during the 1970s and 80s and the mother was an actress. She had born in a traditional family that is occupied with the media industry. The popular actress of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor is her sister. Karisma’s maternal grandfather Hari Shivdasani and paternal grandfather Raj Kapoor both were also actors. She dropped out of school pursuing build up a career in the movie industry.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Karisma Kapoor made her introduction to the Indian film industry with the movie ‘Prem Qaidi’ in 1991. The gorgeous actress subsequently appeared in several successful movies including ‘Jigar’, ‘Anari’, ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Jeet’ and ‘Coolie No. 1’. In 1996, she made her career success performance in the movie ‘Raja Hindustani’ with co-actor Aamir Khan. That created a fierce stir in the Bollywood box office and fetched lots of award including the Filmfare Award for the heroine.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Following the year, she showed off a tremendous performance in the movie ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ as a supporting actress, as a result, won the National Film Award for the Best Supporting role. She showed off an impressive performance in the movie ‘Jaanwar’ in 1999 with co-actor Akshay Kumar. Karisma subsequently appeared in some famous movies like ‘Fiza’ and ‘Zubeidaa’ before marriage.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>On September 29, 2003, Karisma hook up with industrialist Sanjay Kapur, CEO of Sixt India. They have a daughter named Samaira and a son – Kiaan. After almost a decade together it is reported the couple called off their engagement and filed for divorce through mutual concurrence. The divorce finalized in 2016.&nbsp;</p><p> </p>
