Ramayana: Harish Uthaman says Yash becomes 'a mighty Ravan' on set
Harish Uthaman, who plays Vibhishana in Ramayana, praised Yash's Ravana as kind off camera and commanding on it, and recalled a 2015-16 film with Yash that never happened.
Harish Uthaman, who plays Vibhishana in Ramayana, has praised Yash's turn as Ravana and says the actor changes completely once the camera rolls. "When he performs as Ravan, he becomes a mighty Ravan," Uthaman said in a recent interview.
The two actors first met on the sets of the epic. Uthaman described Yash as a kind person away from the camera. He said Yash's costumes, his dialogue delivery and the authority he brings to the role were striking, and called that command "unbelievable".
Their paths had almost crossed before. Uthaman revealed that he was meant to act with Yash in a film in 2015-16, but that project never moved forward. Now, nearly ten years later, he shares the screen with Yash as Ravana's brother, and he said he is "really happy" about it.
Uthaman also called Yash an "extremely considerate" co-actor. Yash talks through each scene with the actors around him, Uthaman said, and he found that a real help on set.
Sony Pictures, meanwhile, has started an international campaign for the film with new TV spots, and reports say a fresh trailer is due later today. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi star in the film. The latest TV spot gives November 5 as the release date for Ramayana Part One.
