Rajamouli's Varanasi to feature a made-up language in a time-travel sequence

SS Rajamouli's Varanasi will feature a fictional language created by a linguistic expert, reports say. It turns up in one of the film's time-travel sequences. In that scene, the characters enter a cave whose walls carry writing in an ancient script, and they must decode it to solve the mysteries tied to their quest.

The director has done this before. In Baahubali, the Kalakeya warriors spoke Kiliki, a language invented for that film.

Mahesh Babu leads Varanasi, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the cast. The film arrives in theatres on April 7, 2027, about six months away.

The official promotional campaign has not started yet. So far the team has put out the first look, the looks of the lead actors and one glimpse.

Karthikeya, one of the film's producers, had said he would work on the promotional plans once his DTTT was released. That film is now out, so the marketing plan is next on his desk.
