Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Arrives on JioHotstar

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, the Malayalam romantic comedy that became a huge box office success, has now landed on JioHotstar. Girish AD directs the film, and Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju play the lead pair. It is reported to have become the highest-grossing film in Mollywood history, helped largely by fans who went back to theatres again and again.

There is good news for Telugu fans here. Reports say the film is streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi as well as the original Malayalam, and that it runs 157 minutes. Viewers had been waiting a while for its digital release, and the platform had already shared parts of the film as reels before its October 2 premiere.

Nivin Pauly plays Justin, a loud and cheerful single man whom everyone in the neighbourhood turns to for help. Mamitha Baiju plays Ashley, who is not happy about moving to a new town with her family and starting college there. The two become friends and Ashley falls for Justin, but he only learns how she feels through his aunt. The age gap between them is more than 15 years. The story handles it with care, and it is Ashley who makes the first move.

Music is a big part of how the pair come together, and the film uses the Malayalam song "Yavanakadhayil" from a 1990s movie that was never released. Sangeeth Pratap and Roshan Shanavas are part of the supporting cast, which reportedly also includes Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Srinda and Shyam Mohan. Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran are said to have produced the film under Bhavana Studios, and Vishnu Vijay reportedly composed the music.

Girish AD is known for slice-of-life comedies such as Super Sharanya, Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and Premalu, and Mamitha Baiju also starred in Premalu. For Nivin Pauly, the film follows his 2025 release Sarvam Maya and takes him back to the feel-good romance space where he first made his name. Early reviews have praised its warmth, its lively neighbourhood characters and how much people want to watch it again.
