Sundeep Kishan's Sigma, Jason Sanjay's Directorial Debut, Opens on 2 October
Sundeep Kishan's heist thriller Sigma, the directing debut of Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, releases on 2 October 2026 alongside several other films lined up for the Gandhi Jayanthi weekend.
Sundeep Kishan's heist thriller Sigma reaches theatres on 2 October 2026, and there is plenty of curiosity around it. The main reason is the man behind the camera. Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, makes his debut as a director with this film.
Many fans had expected Jason to enter films as an actor. He chose direction for his first outing instead, and that choice has given Sigma extra attention. Sundeep Kishan leads the film, with Fiara Abdullah reportedly sharing the lead. The actor has tried many kinds of stories over his career, and he is said to play a lively but intense role here. His energy is being talked up as one of the film's big draws.
Lyca Productions has produced Sigma, which reportedly runs 2 hours and 24 minutes. Reports say the film keeps up a fast pace from start to finish. Jason is said to have told the heist story with a Gen Z feel, mixing adventure, thrills, emotion and entertainment. Thaman's song and background score are expected to be other highlights.
Mythri Movie Makers and NVR Cinema are bringing Sigma to theatres, with a wide release planned across the Telugu states. Support from these two banners gives the film a solid launch.
Sigma has company this week. Around nine films are reportedly lined up across 1 and 2 October as a Gandhi Jayanthi special. The dubbed film Dorothy, starring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth, is drawing interest for its controversial subject. Fahadh Faasil's Don't Trouble The Trouble takes its title from a popular Balakrishna dialogue, and Ajay Devgn's Drishyam-The Conclusion also opens in Telugu.
Smaller Tollywood films are in the mix too. Vikram Sahidev's Anakapalli, Harsh Roshan's Thella Kaagitham, Aadi Sai Kumar's SI Yugandhar and Premane Oorilo all release on 2 October. Nivin Pauly's Sanchari arrives a day earlier, on 1 October.
