Gandhi Jayanthi weekend: Sigma, Anakapalli and more line up for October 2

The Gandhi Jayanthi weekend is shaping up to be a crowded one at the box office, with several Telugu films set for release on October 2. Don't Trouble The Trouble, Anakapalli, Tella Kagitham and Sundeep Kishan's Sigma are all due on the same day, which turns the holiday into a proper clash.

Don't Trouble The Trouble stands out on paper. Fahadh Faasil plays the lead, and the film is reportedly produced by SS Rajamouli's son Karthikeya together with Arka Media Works, the banner behind Baahubali. Ssara is reportedly part of the cast as well.

Tella Kagitham is the next film from Roshan, who made his mark with Court, and Nakshatraa is reportedly paired with him. Anakapalli features Vikram Sahadev, with Sandhya reportedly in the cast. Sigma, which reportedly stars Faria Abdullah opposite Sundeep Kishan, is said to be directed by Jason Vijay and is releasing in both Telugu and Tamil.

The Telugu slate could get even bigger. Reports also list Premane Oorilo, starring Shree Raam and Tapaswini Poonaccha, and Dorothy, featuring Keerthy Suresh and Rishikanth, for the same date.

Other languages bring their own contenders to the weekend. In Hindi, Drishyam: The Conclusion and Prem Keetanu are reportedly on the way. Vijay Sethupathi's Baththa is reportedly coming out in Tamil. Nivin Pauly's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, also listed as Sanchaari, is reportedly arriving in Malayalam and Telugu.

Reports put the total at eight films across languages over the long weekend. For Telugu audiences, that means a Fahadh Faasil film, a Sundeep Kishan bilingual and a couple of fresh new faces all arriving on the same holiday.
