Kajol rings in Durga Puja with Tanuja, Tanishaa and Ayan Mukerji in Mumbai
Kajol shared Instagram photos and a video as her family began Durga Puja celebrations in Mumbai with Tanuja, Tanishaa and Ayan Mukerji, ahead of their North Bombay Sarbojanin Puja running from October 16 to 21.
Kajol has kicked off Durga Puja with her family in Mumbai, posting photos and a video on Instagram from the gathering on October 15.
Her mother Tanuja, sister Tanishaa Mukerji, cousin Ayan Mukerji and Sharbani Mukerji were among the relatives who joined in. In one picture, Kajol plants a kiss on Tanuja's head as the three women pose together. She chose a gold fusion saree with a red blouse, while Tanishaa went for a blue printed one.
The video captures the family revealing a large idol of Goddess Durga, with Kajol dancing and throwing flowers as it is uncovered. In her caption, she called it a day dedicated to Maa in every role, from mother and daughter to protector and Goddess.
Their North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja runs on a university ground from October 16 to 21. Speaking for the Mukerji family, Tanishaa has invited friends, devotees and the media to seek the Goddess's blessings, share bhog and take part in the rituals.
Pushpanjali, Bhog and Sandhya Aarti fill most days. Sandhi Puja falls on October 19 and the Navami Havan on October 20, while the closing day, October 21, brings Sindoor Utsav and Visarjan at 4.30 pm.
Tanishaa also made one request of visitors: come and celebrate, but do not crowd. She said she wants both the public and the media to stay safe, and has asked security to treat people gently. Every devotee, in her view, has as much right to stand before Maa as the family does, and that respect must never slip.
