Jailer 2 opens with fan celebrations as Soundarya and Dhanush join first-day shows

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 reached theatres on October 15, 2026, and fans turned the first-day first shows into a party.

Nelson Dilipkumar directs the sequel, which brings back the superstar as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Anirudh Ravichander returns on music.

Soundarya Rajinikanth, the star's daughter and a filmmaker herself, watched the opening show with fans at Kasi Theatre in Chennai. She danced along with the crowd, and videos of the moment drew wide attention on social media.

Dhanush also came to a first-day screening, at Rohini Theatre in Chennai. The actor has often spoken about how much he admires Rajinikanth.

Sivakarthikeyan marked the day with a warm note about his love for the superstar. He also sent his wishes to Nelson and Anirudh.

Reports say fans in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, as well as overseas audiences, welcomed the film at early shows, some of them around 5 am.
