Gunasekhar reveals the greatness of Shaakuntalam

An ambitious mythological film titled Shaakuntalam was announced by popular director Gunasekhar. The historic significance of this epic love saga of Shakuntala and King Dushyant created more buzz for the movie.

Gunasekhar took to Twitter and revealed the legacy and greatness of the project he has taken up. This legend drama by Kalidas was the first Indian drama translated into foreign languages. William Jones translated it in the year 1789 and later translated it to 46 foreign languages such as Norwegian, France, Italian, etc in 1889.

This movie is also a periodic story but an epic love tale and the 'Adi Parva' of 'Mahabharata'

Meanwhile, Gunasekhar is yet to decide on the actress who would play the titular role in the movie. Manisharma will score the soundtrack for the Neelima Guna production.
