Drishyam: The Conclusion advance bookings race ahead before October 2 release

Ajay Devgn's Drishyam: The Conclusion is heading into its October 2 release on a wave of advance bookings. The third and final chapter of the Hindi franchise opened ticket sales on September 27, and the early response has trade watchers talking about a record start. Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, with Tabu and Shriya Saran back alongside him.

The numbers so far are strong. Reports say the film sold about 1.6 lakh tickets on the first day of bookings and added more than a lakh on the second, taking the count past 4 lakh across India within 48 hours. Trade estimates reportedly put the advance gross at over ₹10 crore by Tuesday morning, with the first day alone already at ₹6.65 crore.

That opening-day figure has reportedly already passed the final advance total of Drishyam 2, which stood at ₹5.09 crore. Separately, reports say more than 80,000 tickets have been sold across the big national multiplex chains with three days still to go. If the pace holds, the film could reportedly finish with one of the best advance hauls for a Bollywood release this year, second only to Dhurandhar 2.

Expectations for opening day have moved sharply upward. Drishyam 2 opened to ₹15 crore net four years ago, and early estimates for the new film sat in the range of ₹25 crore to ₹30 crore. Trade projections now reportedly run from ₹45 crore to ₹50 crore net in India, though that remains a forecast rather than a collection. The final figure will depend on the remaining advance sales, holiday occupancy and audience response.

The release lands on the Gandhi Jayanti weekend, and the film is reportedly getting a wide rollout across seven Indian states. Abhishek Pathak returns as writer and director, and is also a co-producer this time. Unlike the first two Hindi films, this one follows an original story rather than adapting the Malayalam franchise's third part.

Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant are back in the cast. Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Saurabh Shukla are the new entrants for the finale of the crime thriller series.
