Govinda visits Lalbaugcha Raja with Komal Rani, sindoor rumours follow online

Govinda turned up at Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, and he did not come alone. The actor arrived at the pandal with Komal Rani Swarnkar, his co-star in the upcoming film Roopa, and the two offered prayers together before the idol. Govinda wore a white kurta-pyjama while Komal was in traditional red, and both stayed for the final aarti before posing for photographers outside.

The timing gave the visit an extra edge. Sunita Ahuja, Govinda's wife, had been at the same pandal earlier that day, offering prayers and talking to the people around her. Hours later her husband walked in with the actress whose name has been tied to his for months.

The clips travelled fast online, and the talk narrowed to one detail, the vermillion visible on Komal's forehead. Social media posts read it as sindoor and began asking whether the two had quietly married. Reports say the visuals do not support that reading, because the vermillion was applied to her during the darshan itself, and Govinda and others in his group received the same on their foreheads.

Sunita then added to the noise without naming anybody. Reports say she was seen at Mumbai airport the next morning, where she spoke about her pet dog Winter and said animals are better than humans, because humans only betray the love you give them. The line was widely read online as an answer to the pandal visit.

The background here has been running for a while. Sunita has publicly alleged that Govinda is romantically involved with Komal, while Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha has denied any second marriage and any separation between the couple. They married in 1987, a divorce petition was filed and then withdrawn in August 2026, and the family has otherwise kept the details to itself.

For now, the work is the one thing that formally connects the two names. Roopa puts Govinda and Komal on screen together, and reports say the actor is producing it himself, with Komal introduced as the female lead. The film also marks his return to the big screen after several years away.
