Fahadh Faasil says he won't get even half of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit's Rs 300 crore

Fahadh Faasil, one of the producers of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, says the film's huge box office number does not mean a huge payday for him. In a recent interview, the actor-producer explained that the Rs 300 crore figure people keep quoting is the gross collection. He said he will not personally earn even half of that amount.

He was also quick to share the credit. Fahadh said the film's success makes him happy and proud, but he sees it as a win for the whole team, not for him alone. He named Girish, Shyam and Dileesh as partners in that result. Reports say Girish AD directed the film, while Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran produced it with Fahadh and Bhavana Studios.

Fahadh also named his favourite moment in the film. It is the sequence built around a photograph of Ashley, the character played by Mamitha Baiju, which is recreated on screen. He said the scene hit him hard when he watched it, and he pointed out that films rarely use this kind of technique.

The film opened in theatres as an Onam release and got a strong response from Malayalam audiences. It reportedly earned more than the other Onam releases, Khalifa and I'm Game. Reports put its worldwide gross at more than Rs 330 crore, with an India net collection of about Rs 164.25 crore. That makes it one of the biggest Malayalam hits of 2026.

Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju play the leads, and Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna and Vinay Forrt have key roles. The romantic comedy reportedly follows a young couple dealing with love, family and pressure from society. After its run in theatres, the film is now streaming, and reports say it arrived on JioHotstar on October 2.
