Dhanush has met Asian Games medallist Vithya Ramraj in person and congratulated her on winning three medals for India.
The Coimbatore athlete won gold in the women's 4x400m relay, silver in the mixed 4x400m relay and bronze in the women's 400m hurdles. The hurdles race drew the most attention. It brought her to the national record PT Usha had held since 1984.
Vithya grew up in a family with little money. Her father, S Ramraj, is a truck driver. He has spoken before about how hard it was to pay for her training and equipment. She has thanked her family for standing by her through those years.
On the film front, Dhanush's next release is OM, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
