Boyapati Srinu says he is ready to direct Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna together

Director Boyapati Srinu has Telugu film fans talking again. On Monday morning he prayed at the Tirumala temple and then spoke to the media. He talked about a combination Tollywood has discussed for years: Megastar Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna in one film.

Boyapati said he is ready to direct an out-and-out mass multistarrer with the two stars if he gets the chance. He said a film that brings Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna together should surely happen. He added that directing both legends would be a great honour for him.

The idea is not a new one. According to reports, it first came up at the celebrations for Balakrishna's 50 years in cinema. At that event, Chiranjeevi challenged Boyapati to bring the two of them together in a film. Boyapati also reportedly called Chiranjeevi, Balayya, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna the pillars of one report.

He kept his feet on the ground, though. Boyapati reportedly said a project this big needs careful planning because both stars have busy schedules and other commitments. For now, there is no official announcement about the film.

Balayya fans also had news to cheer. Boyapati reportedly said Akhanda 3 will definitely happen. He said he will share the full details officially, on stage with Balakrishna, at the right time. He is also said to have said the film will arrive on schedule. The update has raised hopes even higher for the next chapter of the Akhanda franchise.

So fans have two things to watch for. One is a possible team-up of two of one report's biggest names. The other is a third Akhanda film that the director says is coming.
