Balakrishna fans can stop wondering whether the Akhanda story is over. Director Boyapati Srinu has confirmed that a third film in the franchise will happen. He gave the news while speaking after his darshan at Tirumala.

There is a catch, though. Boyapati made it clear that Akhanda 3 will not go on the floors right away. He is in no hurry to return to the franchise, and reports say he has other commitments to finish before he brings Balakrishna back as Akhanda.

The delay is about more than his schedule. According to reports, the director wants to take his time, fix the mistakes made in the second part and come back with a strong story that connects with every section of the audience. Akhanda 2 was made on a much grander scale and released in several languages, but it reportedly turned out to be a disaster at the box office.

That makes the third film an important one for the pair. The first Akhanda is still a special memory for fans. It arrived soon after the Covid pandemic and pulled people back into theatres when many were still afraid to step out. It reportedly became a big hit even without any rise in ticket prices. Its Hindi dubbed version later did well on YouTube and on TV channels, which led the duo to make the sequel.

Boyapati and Balakrishna have given audiences several successful commercial entertainers together, and their combination is seen as one of the most reliable mass pairings in one report. Expectations for the third chapter are naturally very high.

For now, the message from Tirumala is simple. Akhanda 3 is coming, but fans will need some patience before it arrives.
