800: Legendary Cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan's Biopic To Release On October 6th!

Renowned off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, the sole bowler in International Test cricket history to claim 800 wickets, is the subject of the authentic sports-based film '800,' produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures. Madhur Mittal, known for 'Slumdog Millionaire,' takes on the role of Muralidharan, with Mahima Nambiar portraying Madhimalar Ramamurthy, the cricketer's wife. Directed by MS Sripathy and co-written by Booker Prize laureate Shehan Karunatilaka, the film is set to hit theatres on October 6th.

The movie's pre-release event is scheduled for September 25th in Hyderabad, with former cricketer VVS Laxman as the chief guest. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, the esteemed Tollywood producer and head of Sridevi Movies, has secured the All-India theatrical rights for the film.

Speaking about the event, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad noted the friendship between VVS Laxman and Muralidharan, who were competitors on the cricket field but close friends off it. He expressed gratitude to VVS Laxman for gracing the occasion. Muralidharan, a cricket icon admired by millions in India, has garnered significant attention for the film, and its trailer launch in Mumbai received praise from cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar. The biopic is anticipated to captivate audiences, offering more than just on-field action when it releases in theatres on October 6th.
