Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal is a Hindi film actor and a leading man of the industry, whom some fans simply call king. He is best known for Uri: The Surgical Strike, Sardar Udham and Chhaava, and his top honour is the National Film Award for Best Actor, which he won for Uri. Kaushal started behind the camera, assisting Anurag Kashyap on Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), and took small parts before Masaan (2015) gave him his first lead role. Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) came next. His breakthrough arrived in 2018, when supporting roles in Raazi and Sanju, two of the year's top earners, brought him to a far bigger audience. Playing an army officer in Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) made him a lead star. He took on the role of Udham Singh in Sardar Udham (2021), and in 2023 he had hits with Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Sam Bahadur and Dunki. In Chhaava (2025) he played Sambhaji, and it became the highest-grossing film of his career. Much of his best work is built around real people, from soldiers to historical figures. Along with the National Film Award, he holds three Filmfare Awards: Best Supporting Actor for Sanju and for Dunki, and the Critics Award for Best Actor for Sardar Udham. Away from films, he has co-hosted and performed at award shows.
